Phewa Lake / Lakeside View ~ Pokhara, Nepal

Introduction

Phewa Lake holds great renown as a prominent lake nestled in the Kaski District of Gandaki Province, Nepal. Situated within the Pokhara Valley, this lake captivates the hearts of both local and international tourists. Bearing the name Phewa Lake due to its proximity to the village of Phewa, it is also recognized as Baidam Lake, owing to its proximity to the village. Moreover, the presence of the revered Barahi Mandir in its vicinity has led to it being referred to as Barah Mandir as well. With its sweeping vistas of the majestic Machhapuchhre and Annapurna Himalayas, the lake evokes immense joy and serenity. Witnessing the spectacle of sunrise and sunset here is an enchanting experience that fills one’s heart with happiness.

Phewa Lake is renowned for its mirror-like reflections of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and other mountain peaks, which are clearly visible in its tranquil waters.

Numerous poets have extolled the beauty of Pokhara and Phewa Lake in their literary works, thereby popularizing its allure. It has been immortalized in countless songs, and many essays, stories, and novels have vividly described the charm of Pokhara.
